Sasha Abrams Wins Hope Street Group Essay Contest
The Hope Street Group has awarded Sasha Abrams ’04 the grand prize in their Project California essay contest. Abrams’ paper, “Decentralizing California’s School Finance System: Improving Education through a Return to Local Financing,” proposes remedies for the main problems in K-12 school financing. Abrams will receive $2,500 for her first-place essay.

The Hope Street Group is a nonprofit, non-partisan group promoting economic growth and equality of opportunity. Papers were judged based on their provision of concise, well-substantiated ideas for overcoming political and financial barriers to economic growth and equal opportunity for all.
