Commencement Features Walter Dellinger
Boalt's 2004 commencement ceremony will feature Walter Dellinger, professor, attorney and former acting solicitor general, as the keynote speaker. Dellinger heads the appellate practice at O'Melveny & Myers and is the Douglas B. Maggs Professor of Law at Duke University. As acting solicitor general for the 1996-97 Supreme Court term, he argued cases dealing with physician-assisted suicide, the line item veto, the Brady Act and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. For three years Dellinger served as assistant attorney general and head of the Office of Legal Counsel.
