Boalt Team Wins Regional Moot Court Competition
On Sunday, March 21, Nick Martinti ’04 and Joe Marra ’05 surpassed ten other teams from the western United States to win the regionals for the Giles Sutherland Rich moot court competition—the nation’s premiere general intellectual property competition. They also won the Best Brief award for the region. The team will advance to the national competition in Washington, D.C., on April 14-16. This is the third Boalt Hall team to advance to the Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial moot court nationals in three years.

Focused on intellectual property law, the Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial Moot Court competition was established in honor of the late Giles Sutherland Rich, circuit judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The contest is sponsored by the American Intellectual Property Law Association. For more information, contact Bill Fernholz at 510-643-4447 or fernholz@law.berkeley.edu.
