East Bay Community Law Center Receives Berkeley Community Award
The Berkeley Community Fund (BCF) recognized the East Bay Community Law Center (EBCLC) in late October with its prestigious Berkeley Community Award. U.S. District Court Judge Thelton Henderson '62, an EBCLC friend and supporter, nominated the law center for the annual award. "As a longtime resident of Berkeley, and a graduate of UC Berkeley and Boalt Hall School of Law, I know the positive impact that EBCLC has had on the lives on many individuals, families and agencies in our city," said Judge Henderson in his nomination.
EBCLC Executive Director Jeff Selbin accepted the award at a dinner attended by more than 400 prominent members of the local legal community. "It is an honor to be recognized by our local community foundation," said Selbin. "With BCF's support of our program and other critical services in this time of great need, we move one step closer to our goal of making the community more healthy, secure, productive and hopeful."
