Alan Auerbach Debates Economic Policy with Stanford Professor
The San Francisco Chronicle (10/7/04) featured Professor Alan Auerbach, an economist, as he squared off against Stanford economist Michael Boskin in a debate tackling the economy held at Stanford earlier that week. Auerbach, who holds a joint appointment with the Economics Department, is the Robert D. Burch Professor of Law and Economics, and director of the Robert D. Burch Center for Tax Policy and Public Finance. The center was established in 1994 by Boalt graduate Robert D. Burch '53 to depoliticize economics and to support thoughtful analysis of tax policy issues. Auerbach is an adviser to Democratic Presidential challenger John Kerry. Boskin is an architect of President Bush's tax cuts.
