Phil Angelides Presents “Shareholder Power—Corporate Responsibility”
California State Treasurer Phil Angelides will deliver the 2003 Raven Lecture on Friday, March 14, at 4 p.m. in Booth Auditorium. The lecture, “Shareholder Power—Corporate Responsibility,” will explore what individuals with institutional investments can do to persuade corporations to act responsibly. Angelides talk will be responded to by L. Hunter Lovins, Co-chair of the Natural Capitalism Group of the Global Academy, Kellie McElhaney, executive director of Socially Responsible Business Leadership Initiatives, and Carl Pope, executive director of the Sierra Club. A reception in the Goldberg Room will follow the lecture. Sponsored by the Center for Social Justice, the lecture is free and open to the public.

As treasurer, Angelides has assumed a national leadership role in advancing corporate reform, using the power of California’s investment portfolio to encourage integrity in financial markets and protect taxpayers, pensioners and families.
