Students Win Regional Giles Sutherland Rich Moot Court Competition
Michele Gustafson ’04 and Nick Martini ’04 placed first in the regional round of the Giles Sutherland Rich Moot Court Competition. The team participated in three rounds, defeating a University of Oregon team in round two and two BYU teams in rounds three and four. The Boalt team also won Best Appellant Brief and Best Overall Brief awards. They will advance to the national competition, to be held on April 14 and 15 in Washington, D.C.

Focused on intellectual property law, the Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial Moot Court competition was established in honor of the late Giles Sutherland Rich, circuit judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The contest is sponsored by the American Intellectual Property Law Association. For more information, contact Bill Fernholz at 510-643-4447 or fernholz@law.berkeley.edu.
