Boalt Increases Percentage of Underrepresented Students in Entering Class
The University of California Office of the President recently released the admissions figures for all law schools in the UC system. Boalt Hall has made strong gains in the number of underrepresented students entering the law school, including doubling the number of African American and Latino students in the last two years. The increase is due in large part to the efforts of Boalt students, faculty, staff and alumni who have worked together to promote diversity through extensive outreach and recruitment programs. The admissions process at Boalt is highly competitive, with approximately 7,000 applicants vying for 280 first-year positions in 2002. Official enrollment statistics for law schools in the UC system are available on the UC Office of the President website. For more information, please read the press release from the UC Office of the President, or contact Erin Campbell at 510-643-8010 or ecampbell@law.berkeley.edu.
