Samuelson Clinic Hosts Conference on Enforcing Privacy Rights
On Friday, November 15, and Saturday, November 16, the Samuelson Law, Technology and Public Policy Clinic will host Enforcing Privacy Rights. The conference is the first major meeting to focus squarely on the topic of privacy enforcement and remedies. Panel discussions will bring together leading policy experts, practitioners, scholars and government officials to discuss how to better shape future legislation and determine effective remedies. Panelists include John Podesta, former chief of staff to President Clinton; Jim Dempsey, deputy director of the Center for Democracy and Technology; and Adam Clymer, chief Washington correspondent for the New York Times.

The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The conference is free for UC Berkeley students and a free shuttle will provide transportation from campus. Registration is required for all others. A complete list of topics and panelists is available on the conference website. For more information, please contact Erin Campbell at 510-643-8010 or ecampbell@law.berkeley.edu.
