Leigh Steinberg Speaks About Sports Representation in the New Millennium
On October 24 at 4:00 p.m., Leigh Steinberg '73, a leading figure in sports management and marketing, spoke in the Booth Auditorium of Boalt Hall about how sports representation has evolved and where it's heading today. As the CEO of Assante Sports Management Group, Steinberg represents more than 150 professional athletes. While attending Boalt, he met his first client, Cal quarterback Steve Bartkowski.

Steinberg has also been influential in the community, where he is involved with the Human Relations Commission, Children Now, Children's Miracle Network, CORO fellow program, Starlight Foundation, Special Olympics, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and Junior Achievement. He also founded the Steinberg Leadership Institute, a program run by the Anti-Defamation League that seeks to prepare students to fight racism and inequality.

In addition, Steinberg has been active in the entertainment industry, where he serves on the board of directors of several entertainment companies. He was a consultant for the sports films Jerry Maguire, For the Love of the Game, Any Given Sunday and the HBO series Arli$$. His 1998 book Winning with Integrity was a bestseller.
