Boalt Alumna Receives Skadden Fellowship
Elizabeth Kristen ’01 has been awarded a Skadden Fellowship to work at the San Francisco Legal Aid Society Employment Law Center beginning in September 2002. The Skadden Fellowship Foundation awards 25 fellowships per year to graduating law students and outgoing judicial clerks. Fellows provide legal services to the poor, elderly, homeless and disabled, as well as to those deprived of human or civil rights. The fellows were chosen from 150 applicants through a rigorous selection process.

Kristen, who currently clerks for Judge James R. Browning of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, will work with the Disability Rights Program at the Employment Law Center. Her work will involve expanding the employment and educational opportunities for people with physical and mental disabilities.
