ASIL Guide to Electronic Resources for International Law
The purpose of the guide is to evaluate, organize, guide and explain electronic international legal resources. The various chapters are critically revised and updated on a six-month basis. Each chapter discuss the parameters and vagaries of electronic research in their fields of expertise. They set out basic strategies to find international legal materials and examine what resources are available on international environmental, economic and criminal law, private international law, human rights, treaties, international organizations, and the United Nations.

Access to English language translations of laws, regulations, and cases from the People's Republic of China. Other legal news and information from China is available. The site is also available in Chinese.
EISIL (Electronic Information System for International Law)
EISIL is a database created by the American Society of International Law. It provides access to primary documents, web sites, and research guides on many international topics. EISIL provides value added information, such as legal citations, summaries of documents, and more.
EUR-Lex
The EUR-Lex web site provides comprehensive and authoritative information on EU law. It offers multilingual full-text coverage of a wide range of legal materials and provides access to the founding treaties, as well as to legislation and case law of the European Court of Justice.
FindLaw: International Law Index
Links to different types of materials, including lawyer directories, articles on the WWW, etc.

Global Legal Monitor
Published by the Law Library of Congress, the Global Legal Monitor tracks legal developments around the world. Arranged topically and then by country or international organization, it digests cases and recent legislation. The link points to the PDF of the latest issue, wherein links to previous issues appear. Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals (1985-) UCB only
The Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals (IFLP) database indexes articles as well as book reviews from more than 490 legal journals published worldwide, including journals, essay collections, festschrifts, and congress reports.
InterAm Database UCB only
Provides legal information pertaining to trade, investment, and related issues throughout the Americas. Includes primary sources (statutes, regulations, technical standards, official gazettes, constitutions, case law and treaties) and some secondary sources (commentaries, law review articles and analysis). English language translations are available for selected Mexican laws and regulations. Electronic version of the Inter-American Trade Report is also available.
International Environment Reporter (BNA) UCB only
Environment and safety news on laws, regulations, and policies in all major industrialized and developing nations, and in international governmental and nongovernmental organizations.
International Law in Domestic Courts (ILDC) UCB only
ILDC is a regularly updated repository of domestic cases in international law from over 60 jurisdictions. The cases are selected by local reporters and feature expert commentary, full texts of judgments in their original language, and translations of key passages of non-English judgments into English.
International Legal Research Tutorial
This tutorial is designed to teach students research strategies and methodology for researching both print and electronic sources of international legal materials. It includes short review questions and a final set of review questions to give students an understanding of how these materials are organized, and to teach them how to locate international legal documents such as treaties, agreements and the documentation of international organizations.
Official Document System of the United Nations (ODS)
This database provides access to all types of official United Nations documentation, beginning in 1993. Since older UN documents are added to the system on a daily basis, be sure to search the collection. ODS also provides access to the resolutions of the General Assembly, Security Council, Economic and Social Council and the Trusteeship Council from 1946 onwards. The system does not contain press releases, UN sales publications, the United Nations Treaty Series or information brochures issued by the Department of Public Information. U.S. Treaties and International Agreements (Oceana Online) UCB only
Choose "Select A Product - Treaties & Intl Agrmts". This database is updated monthly, and includes full-text English translations of over 11,500 treaties and international agreements. This is one of the most up-to-date source for many types of the included agreements. The collection includes non-U.S. taxation agreements too. Please don't forget to log off at the right end of the top bar. Boalt has a limited number of accounts which may be active simultaneously.
University of Minnesota Human Rights Library
The Human Rights Library contains one of the largest collections of human rights documents and international instruments. Coverage includes the UN system, as well as the Inter-American system, the European system, and the African system. There is also an extensive collection of links to other related sources on the web.
WTO Online UCB only
This is the electronic version of the print set called Law and Practice of the World Trade Organization, a multi-volume looseleaf service. It provides access to the final texts of all relevant documents involved in the creation of the WTO (Marrakesh Declaration, the Marrakesh Agreement establishing the World Trade Organization, GATT 1994, the Uruguay Round Agreements, and the Plurilateral Trade Agreements and related Ministerial Decisions, Declarations and Understandings), full-text decisions of the Dispute Settlement panels and reports, and commentary from trade law experts on a variety of issues. Search by keyword, title of document, product, agreement, country and subject.
WTO Reporter (BNA) UCB only
Tracks the progress of multilateral trade negotiations, negotiating positions of parties, policy decisions, dispute settlement activities, accession of new members, and reactions of countries to major developments. Coverss evolving rules for trade administered by the WTO. Monitors the progress of all major cases taken to the WTO. |
