ASIL Guide to Electronic Resources for International Law
The purpose of the guide is to evaluate, organize, guide and explain electronic international legal resources. The various chapters are critically revised and updated on a six-month basis. Each chapter discuss the parameters and vagaries of electronic research in their fields of expertise. They set out basic strategies to find international legal materials and examine what resources are available on international environmental, economic and criminal law, private international law, human rights, treaties, international organizations, and the United Nations.
China Trade Extra UCB only
Part of the World Trade Online database, this service provides access to current news, documents, statements from the Chinese government, U.S. policy, and more related to China and the World Trade Organization (WTO) as well as trade issues generally. This is the electronic version of Inside US-China Trade.
InterAm Database UCB only
Provides legal information pertaining to trade, investment, and related issues throughout the Americas. Includes primary sources (statutes, regulations, technical standards, official gazettes, constitutions, case law and treaties) and some secondary sources (commentaries, law review articles and analysis). English language translations are available for selected Mexican laws and regulations. Electronic version of the Inter-American Trade Report is also available.
International Trade Reporter (BNA) UCB only
Latest news and trends in U.S. trade policy, including regulatory, legislative, and judicial developments. Covers major activities of the International Trade Commission, Departments of State, Treasury, and Commerce, World Trade Organization, and European Union. Significant court and administrative rulings involving U.S. trade law, including opinions of the U.S. Court of International Trade, International Trade Administration, and International Trade Commission. Tracks international treaty negotiations and agreements.
KluwerArbitration.com UCB only
KluwerArbitration is a fully searchable database covering the topic of international commercial arbitration. It includes: conventions, national legislation and case law, model laws rules of international and regional institutions, commentary, and information on bilateral investment treaties. The researcher can search or browse the database. Most information is full-text, but in some cases summaries or citations are only available. After you have accessed the database, select the "International Business" tab.
Transnational Dispute Management (TDM) UCB only
TDM is a global transnational dispute management portal and it aims to provide updates on new developments, insights and comments, as well as national legislation and case law. Transnational Law Digest & Bibliography (TLDB)
TLDB contains a comprehensive digest of principles and rules of transnational commercial law. The digest provides access to precedent-authorities needed to ascertain the disputed meaning of key legal terms in transnational disputes and provides thousands of full text references (arbitral awards, court decisions, law review articles, domestic laws, conventions, model laws, international restatements etc.). The database also contains a large bibliography on transnational commercial law. Searching is available and all information is free of charge.
World Trade Online UCB only
The online equivalent to the print newsletter called Inside U.S. Trade, a weekly report on governmental and industry trade issues. Access the current newsletter, plus an archive of past issues. There is also the latest news on a variety of international trade and related issues, special reports on various hot topics, and a large collection of documents (reports, letters, dispute settlement documents, and more).

Dispute Settlement Commentaries (DSCs) provide detailed summaries of the legal findings and conclusions as well as commentaries on WTO Panel reports, WTO Appellate Body reports, WTO Arbitrations, and NAFTA Chapter 20 Panel reports. Each DSC contains information about the case, including a time line, references to other reports and materials, and expert analysis on many of the key issues in the report. Other useful tools include search mechanisms, a WTO Case Law Index, and statistical information.

This is the electronic version of the print set called Law and Practice of the World Trade Organization, a multi-volume looseleaf service. It provides access to the final texts of all relevant documents involved in the creation of the WTO (Marrakesh Declaration, the Marrakesh Agreement establishing the World Trade Organization, GATT 1994, the Uruguay Round Agreements, and the Plurilateral Trade Agreements and related Ministerial Decisions, Declarations and Understandings), full-text decisions of the Dispute Settlement panels and reports, and commentary from trade law experts on a variety of issues. Search by keyword, title of document, product, agreement, country and subject.
WTO Reporter (BNA) UCB only
Tracks the progress of multilateral trade negotiations, negotiating positions of parties, policy decisions, dispute settlement activities, accession of new members, and reactions of countries to major developments. Coverss evolving rules for trade administered by the WTO. Monitors the progress of all major cases taken to the WTO. |
