Law Library of Congress: Digital Hearings
The Law Library of Congress has digitized three collections of selectively compiled congressional hearings (Census, Freedom of Information/Privacy, and Immigration) as a pilot project. Ultimately, this resource will provide full-text access to approximately 75,000 volumes of hearings held by the Library.

LexisNexis Congressional UCB only
Provides index and abstracts of congressional publications back to 1789, including full text of congressional hearings from 1824-2003, full text Committee Prints from 1830-2003, full text Congressional Research Service (CRS) Reports from 1916-2003, and legislative histories from 1970-present. Please note that LexisNexis is currently digitizing its hearings from 1824-1979 so some hearings may not be available full text.

THOMAS: Legislative Information on the Internet
The Library of Congress provides an excellent resource for congressional legislation. Databases include Bill Text, Bill Summary and Status, Public Laws, the Congressional Record, and Committee Reports. There are links to committee homepages as well as historic documents.
U.S. Congressional Serial Set UCB only
The U.S. Congressional Serial Set is a collection of primary source materials covering the period 1817-1980 (the 15th through 96th Congresses). This electronic version is presently complete through the 76th Congress, 3rd session (1941). It’s made up of congressional reports and documents, arranged in sequentially numbered volumes. Many important executive agency documents were printed in congressional editions during the 19th century, making the U.S. Congressional Serial Set an incredibly rich resource covering nearly every aspect of society. The set includes the American State Papers, a retrospective collection of materials originating from 1789 through 1838 but published in the second quarter of the 19th century.

US Congressional Bibliographies
The U.S. Congressional Bibliographies (from North Carolina Sate University) enumerate and describe meetings held by Congressional committees since 1985, those for which printed transcripts are issued, and those that remain unprinted. Its sources are the Congressional Record's "Daily Digest" and bibliographic information supplied by the U.S. Senate Library. Its primary goal is to be an authoritative, exhaustive reference source of meetings held and documents released by House and Senate committees. |
