The new computer lab is located in Room LL131 in the new Library. The computing support office is located in Room LL121 near the computer lab. There is also 1 lab computer for your use in the West Basement (Student Center).
Our lab is located in LL131 in the new Law Library. There are 21 Windows computers and 3 Macintosh computers available for law student use.
There is also 1 Windows computer located in the West Basement (Student Center).
The Windows computers are PCs running Windows XP with LCD monitors and CD-ROM drives. The Macs have an LCD monitor and CD-ROM drive and run Mac OSX. A number of lab computers are set up with CD-RW/DVD-RW capabilities. USB ports are available on the front of most computers and on the side of most monitors to accomodate USB keys. We also have a "BookScan" setup with a scanner and easy-to-use scanning station that can scan to e-mail, a USB drive, the printer, or Google Docs. The lab has access to multiple high-speed HP LaserJet printers, and you can find out more about lab printing here.
Incoming students participate in a mandatory orientation to become familiarized with lab facilities and policies. There is also a Student Computing handbook which outlines everything covered in the orientation. The Fall 2011 edition is available here.
Use of the computer labs is for enrolled Berkeley Law students only. Other UCB students and the general public may use the computers in the public areas of the library for research purposes.
