CALI

Computer Assisted Legal Instruction - CALI - produces a series of nearly 400 Internet and computer-based lessons covering 30 legal topic areas - everything from Administrative Law to Wills and Trusts.

The CALI lessons are a valuable resource that you may use to review or reinforce material covered in class. The lessons can also challenge your understanding of topics ranging from professional responsibility to torts or environmental law, provide practice in drafting contracts, and allow you to explore the intricacies of administrative law.

You can use the CALI lessons in any of these three ways:

  1. In the computer labs, choose Start → Programs → CALI Lessons
  2. Install the CALI software on your home computer or laptop. The CD-ROM is available at the labtech desk in the main lab.
  3. Use CALI online at http://www2.cali.org . If you have not used the website before, you will need to register. Click the 'Not a registered user yet' link. You will be asked for Boalt's authorization code (this code was in an email sent to all students. Ask at the reference desk or —email mlevy@law.berkeley.edu if you need it.) You may then create your own password. When you come back to the CALI site, you'll then only be asked for your email address and the personal password you created during this registration process.

If you have any problems using CALI, please contact Michael Levy at mlevy@law.berkeley.edu .
