LAW & TECHNOLOGY WRITING WORKSHOP

Fall Course Requirements (2 credits)

• Join and participate in BTLJ
• Class meeting time: Tuesday 2:20 - 4:10 pm (room 123 - unless otherwise noted)
• Complete various research and writing assignments (ON TIME)
• Prepare a polished case comment (approx. 20 pages double-spaced) by December 20, 2006
• Present another student’s piece and provide constructive commentary
• Submit draft for consideration by BTLJ editors

Spring Requirements (1 credit - 299)

• Perform a substantive edit (and cite check) on another piece written for the class
• Revise your comment to the satisfaction of BTLJ editors

• editing project: selected paragraphs (reporting of the case) from a draft case comment on ProCD v. Zeidenberg.
Assignment:
• Carefully revise the sample case comment. Focus on the overall structure of the excerpt (ordering of ideas in the paragraphs) as well as the sentence structure, word choice, and grammar of the draft.
