Instructions for Participants on the Conference Program
Most panels on the ISUS X Program were assembled by the program committee. These panels most often do not have a designated commentator or formal response to the presentations. Instead, one of the panelists will be asked to chair the proceedings and to oversee the open discussion of the papers by the audience and panelists.
Panelists should prepare a 15-20 minute presentation of their conference papers. This time constraint will insure ample time to present and discuss each of the conference papers. To facilitate this discussion, we seek to have the conference papers digitally posted in advance of the meeting (see instructions below). Panelists are encouraged to read the Abstracts and Papers (where available) of their co-panelists. However, in presenting your work at the conference you should not assume that your paper has been read in advance by those attending your panel.
Panels Nos. 13, 17, 22, 23, 26, 33, 36 and 38 were accepted to the conference program as pre-assembled units. In the case of these panels, the panel members should take responsibility for the allocation of time among presenters and (where relevant) panel chairs and commentators. Please leave time for an open discussion of the papers by the panel audience.
Posting Conference Paper
Abstracts of all papers submitted for the ISUS conference are being posted on a dedicated conference web site managed by Berkeley Law’s Kadish Center and the California Digital Library. We seek also to post as many conference papers as possible at this site.
To post your conference paper, please send us a digital copy – preferably as an MS WORD document or PDF file – in the form of an email attachment to ISUS@law.berkeley.edu. Please be sure the copy of the paper you submit includes at the top the following preliminary material: Paper Title; Author Name and Institution; Paper Abstract.
Papers may be sent to ISUS@law.berkeley.edu now. To insure sufficient time for your paper to be posted and read by others attending the conference, please submit your paper no later than August 22. (We will continue receiving and posting papers up till the start of the conference on September 11.)
Please note: Conference Papers are being posted at a public web site. Authors retain full rights of copy to the work. At the conclusion of the meeting, we will delete your paper from the site, should you prefer it to be withdrawn Alternatively, you may choose to keep the paper on the site and withdraw it when a published version appears. (At that time, publication information can be substituted for the paper itself.)
Those participants who already submitted copies of their papers, are asked to resubmit them (as an email attachment), with indication that the paper now should be posted.

A Graduate Student Paper Prize will be awarded to the best student paper presented at the meting. The prize will carry a small monetary award.
