The Honorable G. William and Ariadna Miller Institute for Global Challenges and the Law (GCL) works to develop effective responses to critical global challenges that transcend state borders. Bringing together a diverse and international group of constituents, GCL employs sustained research initiatives in order to impact policy on issues including:

  • The promotion of the rule of law and global security.
  • The advancement of sustainable development, health and human rights;
  • The alleviation of the social and economic consequences of poverty;
  • The support of religious and cross-cultural discourse;

Our highly collaborative approach to advocacy and research makes GCL an effective catalyst for wide-reaching change.  As part of the University of California, GCL draws upon broad resources of professional and interdisciplinary talent and world-class research capabilities.
