Robert D. Infelise

Robert D. Infelise received his J.D. in 1980 from the University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall) and joined the Los Angeles office of Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP. He now chairs the firm's environmental litigation practice group and is a resident partner in the San Francisco office.

Since 1982 Infelise has specialized in matters involving soil and groundwater contamination. He was lead plaintiffs' counsel in RTC v. Rossmoor and assisted in representing the plaintiff in Bixby Ranch Co. v. Spectrol Electronics Corporation, the seminal case involving stigma damages for contaminated real property. He also represents defendants in litigation relating to California's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act (Proposition 65) and counsels clients on matters involving electrical deregulation.

Infelise writes and speaks frequently about soil and groundwater pollution, insurance for environmental claims, Proposition 65 and indoor air pollution.

A lecturer at Boalt Hall since 1994, Infelise teaches Environmental Law and Policy, Environmental Litigation and Environmental Remedies. He was recognized by students as the Outstanding Lecturer in 1995.
