The "long", "unstructured," "semi-structured," "intensive" interview has a long and honorable history in the social sciences, but it is usually taught by apprenticeship rather than by scholarly attention. This workshop draws on new discoveries in cognitive science to discuss the planning, shaping and administering of this kind of interview, and provides helpful suggestions about analysis.
