We are proud to announce that the Boalt Hall Center for Social Justice will be named the Honorable Thelton E. Henderson Center for Social Justice this fall. To celebrate this momentous occasion, we invite you to attend a gala dinner on Friday, September 15 at 6:30 pm at the elegantly restored San Francisco City Hall in the Rotunda located at 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place.

We are grateful to our generous sponsors.

At the celebration we will award the first annual Judge Thelton E. Henderson Social Justice Prize to the candidate who best exemplifies the intellectual rigor, integrity, courage and vision that are distinctive of Judge Henderson's character and life work. Complete the nomination form if you are interested in applying or nominating a colleague.

Judge Thelton Henderson '62, one of Boalt's most distinguished graduates, is chief judge emeritus of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, where he has served since his appointment in 1980. As a federal judge, Thelton's contributions to the causes of equality and civil rights is an inspiration to all who work for social justice in this country.

Please plan to join Dean Christopher Edley and Mary Louise Frampton on September 15. To RSVP for this event go to our Registration Page. For more information on sponsorships contact Jacqueline Ervin at (510) 642-3093, or contact the Center at (510) 642-6969 if you would like more information about the gala and/or the Thelton E. Henderson Social Justice Prize.
