The Thelton E. Henderson Center for Social Justice (HCSJ) is the heart of Boalt Hall's public mission. The intellectual hub ofthe law school's vibrant social justice community, HCSJ is a training and research center that prepares the next generation of public interest lawyers to meet the challenges of representing disadvantaged communities and produces innovative and accessible scholarship that combines theory, practice, and policy. By providing opportunities for scholars and activists to work together in the search for solutions to our most pressing social problems, HCSJ provides a bridge between the legal academy and the community that is unique in our country.
