Gregory Shapiro is a Research Assistant at the Berkeley Center for Criminal Justice. Shapiro obtained his masters degree in criminology from the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests focused on crime prevention and victim justice. Shapiro spent two years working for the Counsel on Crime and Justice acting as a liaison between the Minneapolis Police Department and City Attorney’s Office as well as providing victim support. Shapiro worked as a research assistant to the Jerry Lee Center of Criminology on a project with the Philadelphia Department of Human Services and Child Protective Services to revamp the statistical analysis used to target specific problems. Shapiro graduated from The University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in May 2007 with a B.A. in sociology in law, criminology, and deviance and a minor in psychology.
