The South Addition anchors our building enterprise. Constructed two stories below the school's courtyard, it will create a new home for the law library's unique and extensive collection. The design includes efficient compact shelving, which will create more space for student research and reading rooms. Huge skylights and open stairways will produce a light and inviting environment.
At ground level, a beautiful pavilion-style building will house a café, student lounge, and a 90-person state-of-the-art classroom. A roof-deck garden will be connected by bridges to the Steinhart Courtyard and to the library's main reading room. A newly landscaped entryway will create a green and vibrant transition from the Berkeley Law complex to Bancroft Way.
Donors who want to support the building can give to the School of Law's general campaign fund and may receive a naming opportunity in recognition.
