Learn about successes and strategies to help navigate in international waters. Professor Richard Buxbaum '53, Jackson H. Ralston Professor of International Law, will lead this discussion with Richard Frasch '77, vice president of GlobiTech Holding Company; Ken King '87, partner at Skadden Arps Slate, Meagher & Flom; and John Schulman '72 executive vice president and general counsel of Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
Hot and Hotter: A Climate of Change (MCLE credit is offered)
Global warming is perhaps the greatest and most pervasive environmental challenge of the 21st century. Hear from environmental law experts about what's being done and what's needed on the legislative front to tackle this far-reaching problem. Ruth Greenspan Bell '67, director of the International Institutional Development and Environmental Assistance at Resources for the Future moderates this discussion with Jared Blumenfeld '92, director of the San Francisco Department of the Environment; Marc N. Melnick '93, deputy attorney general for the California Attorney General's Office; and Roger Peters '77, vice president and general counsel of PG&E Corporation.

Wine has become big business in the United States, tallying $26 billion in sales in 2005. The wine business raises a range of legal and regulatory issues, including interstate sales, licensing, trademarks, contracts, land use and environmental compliance. Join leading experts in a discussion of legal concerns facing the industry. Moderated by Scott Gerien '96 of Dickenson Peatman & Fogarty with panelists Ron Larson '61, senior vice president and general counsel of Trinchero Family Estates; John Mackie '73, managing partner of Carle, Mackie Power & Ross; and Deborah Quick '02, of Morgan Lewis.
Our Precarious Privacy (MCLE credit is offered)
In an era of heightened national security and robust Internet commerce, privacy has become one of the most controversial and complex issues of our time. Professor Deirdre Mulligan, director of the Samuelson Clinic, and panelists will examine questions of constitutional and civil rights and review legal battles concerning wiretapping, data mining, video surveillance. Panel experts include Professor Erin Murphy of the California Center for Criminal Justice; Kurt Opsahl '97, staff attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation; and Nicole Ozer '03, technology and civil liberties policy director of the ACLU of Northern California.

The Roberts Court: A Term to Remember (MCLE credit is offered)
Join Earl Warren Professor of Public Law Jesse Choper, court-focused journalists Jess Bravin '97 of the Wall Street Journal and Jami Floyd '89 of Court TV, and UC Berkeley Political Science Professor Gordon Silverstein for reactions and appraisals of John Roberts' first term on the Supreme Court. The panel will examine the Roberts Court from various perspectives, including a review of major decisions and other specific cases of special interest, and thoughts about new directions that the Court appears likely to take.

Soul of Justice: Thelton Henderson's American Journey
Don't miss this private screening of Soul of Justice, the award-winning documentary about Judge Thelton Henderson '62, from his days as the first African-American attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division in the early 60s to his remarkable quarter-century service on the federal bench. Judge Henderson and director Abby Ginzberg will be available for commentary and questions.
