This week Christopher Edley and Goodwin Liu—co-directors of the Chief Justice Earl Warren Institute on Race, Ethnicity and Diversity—filed an amicus curiae brief with the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of 19 former chancellors of the University of California. The brief urges the court to affirm voluntary efforts by local school boards to achieve racial integration in K-12 public schools throughout California and the nation.
Sharing the institute's continuing progress in this field, Edley and Liu are also leading Equal Opportunity in Higher Education: The Past and Future of Proposition 209 on Friday, October 27. The Boalt community continues to offer a wide palette of events, and we hope you can join faculty members, distinguished experts, and fellow alums at one of the many activities slated for the fall. Highlights include a conference honoring Bob Berring '74, several center events, and a conversation with Jesse Choper and San Diego alums on the future of the Roberts Court.
