ADMISSIONS > Student Life
At Boalt Hall, the dean of students is available for academic, financial and personal advising and counseling. Students are encouraged to meet with the dean of students and her staff to discuss academic plans, questions about the profession, personal concerns, summer activities and other matters. Students are welcome to schedule appointments or stop by on a drop-in basis.
In addition to working with individual students, the dean of students and her staff interface with the Boalt Hall Student Association and all the student organizations, supporting their social and community activities. Special funding is made available, with prior application and approval, for special events such as conferences, workshops and community-building social occasions.

For more information, call 510-642-1827 or visit the programs website at www.housing.berkeley.edu/child. In addition, the UC Berkeley Parents Network is a great resource for student parents: http://parents.berkeley.edu.

Berkeley students with disabilities can receive academic support services (such as readers, note takers or sign language interpreters), attendant referral and housing assistance. For more information, call 510-642-5700 or visit the website at www.uhs.berkeley.edu/students/insurance/index.shtml.
University Health Service
The University Health Service provides students with comprehensive medical care, counseling, insurance and health education. Services include visits to physicians, nurse practitioners, specialists and specialty clinics; health education; counseling; a pharmacy; physical therapy; and basic laboratory tests and x-rays. Most services are subsidized by student registration fees, so the direct cost to students is modest. For more information, call 510-642-2000 or visit the website at www.uhs.berkeley.edu.
