Concurrent Degree Programs

Students who wish to examine the law in an interdisciplinary context may arrange to earn a J.D. degree at Boalt Hall and a master's degree (or occasionally a doctorate) in another school or department on the Berkeley campus. A J.D. degree and a master's degree (or the coursework for a doctorate) can be earned in approximately four years.

Because much of the work in some participating schools requires a background in quantitative methods, including statistics, advanced planning of one's undergraduate curriculum is helpful.

Please note that a separate application and admission to the other department are required. Applications to the law school are also welcome from students who are in their first year in one of the other participating schools or departments.
