Business Services

The Law School is a centralized business environment in which all financial transactions are processed on behalf of faculty, staff and students by Business Services, located in Suite 309 at 2440 Bancroft Way.  We partner with campus subject experts, such as Procurement Services, the Business Contracts Office, Travel Services, the Payroll Office, and the Disbursements Office, to accomplish these transactions:

  • Purchases of goods and services via purchase orders and/or campus credit card transactions (bluCard and Event Planner Card programs)
  • Travel expense reimbursements
  • Entertainment expense reimbursements
  • Preparation of service agreements and contracts in collaboration with the requester
  • Preparation of Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Requests for Quote (RFQ) in collaboration with the requester
  • Deposits of revenue and other non-gift income
  • Payment of vendor invoices and management of vendor inquiries
  • Payments to visiting faculty (stipends, honoraria)
  • Payroll (monthly MO, monthly arrears MA, semi-monthly SM cycles)

Business Services receives incoming requests via orders@law.berkeley.edu, our internal tracking system. Our goal is to act on your request within no more than four business hours after receipt of your message.

Please don’t hesitate to contact Business Services with your questions, comments, and suggestions about your business transactions, either via orders@law.berkeley.edu or directly via phone or e-mail to a specific individual on our team. If you don’t know how to get from Point A to Point B with your transaction, we can help by providing effective, easy-to-understand information and instructions. Our library of “How to” flyers will expand continuously to meet the changing needs of the Law School community.
