For Employers

Welcome to the Career Development Office

Recruiting Services for Employers

The Career Development Office (CDO) provides prospective employers with opportunities to meet, mentor and recruit Berkeley Law students. We also work extensively with our students and alumni to help them establish professional goals and find employment opportunities that match their long-term career objectives.

Our staff includes an assistant dean for career development and six attorney counselors who are able to draw on their own significant legal practice experience in developing career planning and recruitment strategies. We provide the following student and alumni services:

  • Individual career counseling
  • Informative programs and workshops
  • Advice on effective job search strategies
  • Resume and cover letter critique
  • Mock interview programs and interview coaching
  • Facilitation of contact with Berkeley Law alumni or mentors
  • Direct outreach and placement efforts on behalf of our students and alumni

How we can assist with your recruiting efforts:
  • Coordinating on campus interviews each fall and spring (for details, click on the interview programs link below)
  • Consulting with firms and organizations on how to recruit effectively at Berkeley Law
  • Posting job opportunities online to which our students and alumni have exclusively access

Thank you for visiting our website. If we can be of any assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact the Assistant Dean for Career Development, Terrence Galligan, or any member of our staff (see our list of staff members). If you have specific questions relating to recruiting dates or logistics, please contact Marty Grenhart, our recruitment manager.

Please be aware that the Berkeley Law CDO expects employers to observe the principles of nondiscrimination and equality of opportunity. It does not make its services, interviewing facilities, or jobs posting database available to employers who discriminate in the selection of employees on the basis of national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age, or on any other basis prohibited by applicable law.
