Room Reservations
Non-class related use of rooms for events. Berkeley Law (Boalt Hall) rooms and facilities that are not scheduled for use by classes or class related activities are available by reservation for meetings and other events on a first come, first served basis. Only individuals or groups deemed by the School to be consistent with the research and educational mission of the School may rent or use Boalt Hall facilities. Facilities must be used in accordance with all Federal, State, and local laws, including ADA regulations, as well as in accordance with University policies and procedures.

 

New! Student Conference Room Reservations via the Web!
Starting the week of August 31 2009, members of the Boalt Student Body will be able to register for a new web service allowing self serve reservations of 5 student meeting rooms on the Boalt Campus. Two rooms in the Student Center will be available starting August 31st and may be reserved for blocks of 4 hours at a time. Three smaller rooms near the Donor Lobby entrance of the Library will become available on September 9th and may be reserved for blocks of 2 hours at a time. There is no food allowed in the smaller rooms.

To register simply click the link below, log in using your Cal Net ID, and you will be taken to the registration page. Enter your email and first and last name in the spaces provided, while not required it is a good idea to enter a phone number. Leave the fax and note fields blank. Click save. Your registration will be reviewed and you will receive an email when your account is approved. Reservations may only be made after your account has been approved.

All Other Reservations
Whether you are a member of the Boalt Community or an Outside Group the reservation procedure is the same, to reserve a room, download the Room Reservation form,  fill it out completely and send it to roomplanning@law.berkeley.edu

Make your request as far in advance of you event as possible!
Room Planning will make every effort to approve your request as quickly as possible, but is also tasked with other responisbilites. Facilities (room set up) and Media (AV equipment) both require a minimum of three (3) days advance notice AFTER your request has been approved. Please plan accordingly.

Best Practice
Fill out the entire form. Every effort will be made to get you the room you request, however if a specific room is not available having complete information will aid in finding an alternate that best fits your needs.

Boalt Community
Faculty, Centers, Clinics, Programs, Student Organizations, and other school units may request use of class or conference rooms, please make your request well in advance of the event so that any reservation conflicts or other issues may be resolved and other services such as Media or Facilities may be ordered in a timely fashion. (Both Media and Facilities require at least three (3) days notice)

If you cancel your event but do not cancel your room reservation, you will forfeit your reservation privileges. The School of Law reserves the right to cancel your reservation due to misrepresentation of the event, the speakers or the advertising. Also, we reserve the right to change your reservation if it is deemed necessary by the Administration of the Law School.

Outside Groups
Law firms, law examination firms and other off-campus groups may rent classrooms, please make your request well in advance of the event so that any reservation conflicts or other issues may be resolved and other services may be ordered in a timely fashion. (Both Media and Facilities require at least three (3) days notice)

You must notify us within two business days of the event if you are canceling your reservation or the full fee will remain payable. The School reserves the right to cancel your reservation due to misrepresentation of the event, the speakers or the advertising.  We reserve the right to cancel your reservation for failure to remit payment prior to the event. We reserve the right to assess an additional fee in the event of damage or the need for cleaning beyond normal maintenance.

Everyone
This reservation is limited to the use of the facility listed only. If you have reserved an outdoor space and the weather turns inclement, you do not automatically have access to other parts of the building without a reservation.  You are responsible for making all other arrangements, such as extra chairs or other furniture (Facilities) or AV gear for presentation or teleconferencing (Media), etc., and the room must be cleared before you leave. Storage space is not available.

Alcohol
If alcohol is to be served at your event, a Campus alcoholic beverages permit MUST be completed, signed by the sponsoring Department and sent to U. C. P. D. at least seven (7) working days prior to the event. A signed copy of the approved permit must be present at the event. Alcohol may not be sold. Please also see the Campus Alcohol Beverage Policy.
