Berkeley Center for Law & Technology Hosts Panel on Patent Law and Innovation
On Friday, February 18, judges from the U.S. Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, along with in-house counsel from several corporations, addressed Perspectives on Patent Law and Innovation at a panel discussion in Berkeley.
Participating speakers included: federal Circuit Judges Richard Linn and Sharon Prost; federal District Court Judges Charles Breyer '66, Jeremy Fogel and Ronald Whyte; and federal Magistrate Judges Elizabeth Laporte, Richard Seeborg and Joseph Spero. Corporate counsel from Genentech, eBay, Intel, Sanofi-Synthelabo and Apple Computer spoke. Also participating was Joseph J. Rolla, deputy commissioner for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
