Symposium: Islamic Finance: Resilience in a Time of Financial Crisis?

Professor Oona Hathaway's research focuses on the promise and limits of international law and on the intersection of U.S.constitutional law and international law. Professor Hathaway also serves as a member of the Advisory Committee on International Law for the Legal Adviser at the United States Department of State. She spoke about the international law challenges facing the Obama administration.

Pascal Lamy has served as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization
since September 2005. Previously the Trade Commissioner of the European
Union in Brussels, Mr. Lamy has also served as Chief of Cabinet to the President
of the European Commission, a political advisor to the Economics and Finance
Minister and the Prime Minister of France, and as President of Notre Europe, a think
tank working on European integration. A member of the French Socialist Party, Mr.
Lamy is active in the Mouvement Europeen, and a recipient of the Officier de la Legion d’Honneur.
