DEC 5 9am - Calmail is up. Campus is currently allowing full access to Calmail. This includes desktop email clients (Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Outlook) and mobile devices. This may change if the system becomes unstable and we will update the community if this occurs.
DEC 4 12pm - Calmail is up. Access is only available through the web at this time.
DEC 4 8am - Calmail will be down for maintenance from 8am-11am this morning. During this time the Calmail team will be migrating a portion of the environment to new hardware to help create more capacity before Monday. Email will be deferred and delivered when the system returns to service.
DEC 2 12pm - Calmail is up, but only accessible through the webmail interface at http://calmail.berkeley.edu
DEC 1 5:30pm - The CalMail team will be performing server maintenance between 9 – 10:30PM tonight. If you are not able to get to your account, please try again after 10:30.
DEC 1 4:30pm - Calmail is back in service for web access only at this time. Due to heavy load, expect intermittient problems sending and receiving email.
DEC 1 12:30pm - Calmail is currently down . Campus is stating it will be back up at 2pm. We will post an update at that time.
DEC 1 9am - Calmail is now allowing regular client access to emails from on-campus only. What this means:
1. You can use your regular email client (Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Outlook) to access your email while on campus. This includes at your desk or using Airbears
2. Your mobile device can send and receive email if it is signed on to Airbears. If it is using the regular cellular network you still will not be able to send/receive email. Blackberry users will *still* not be able to send our receive emails on their devices.
3. You will still be able to use webmail from off-campus and at home
NOV 30 - Calmail is currently back up. Due to the fragility of the current system, campus is only allowing access to email via the webmail clients available at http://calmail.berkeley.edu . You will not be able to access your email from Thunderbird, Outlook or your mobile device.
