On 21 March 2013 was held the second conference of the Data Protection BCLT ("Berkeley Center for Law and Technology") of the University of Berkeley, Palo Alto. The well attended event provided an interesting insight into, among other things, the US-European relations policy.

It should be emphasized, in my view, in particular, the panel on "The EU-US Privacy Collision" on which Paul Schwartz (BCLT and Berkeley Law), Christopher Wolf (Hogan Lovells), Charles Nicolas Peifer (University of Cologne) and Michael D. Hintze ( Chief Privacy Counsel and Assistant General Counsel of Microsoft Corporation) were represented.

The rest were on the panel theme "The Price of Privacy and Free" ( listen to audio recording ), "The Management of Processes privacy: the CPO and Beyond" ( listen to audio recording ) and "Technology and Privacy Design" ( audio listen to recording ) treated.

In addition, Travis LeBlanc (Special Assistant Attorney General, California Department of Justice) gave a presentation ( listen to audio recording ) to the data protection legislation in California and the recent efforts to enforce them in the company.
