Certificate in Law and Technology (IP) (Professional Track)
The Certificate in Law and Technology allows Professional LL.M. students to receive recognition for successful completion of a course of study which focuses on the professional practice of Intellectual Property Law and Privacy Law.
Students who meet the following requirements will be awarded an LL.M. Certificate of Specialization in Law and Technology from the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology upon graduation.
- Completion of the foundational Intellectual Property course;
- Completion of three additional Law and Technology courses; and
- Completion of a research paper on a Law and Technology topic. Papers must be submitted to BCLT by the end of the third quarter.

- This schedule highlights only the courses that satisfy the IP Certificate. Please also consult the main courses page to see which additional courses are required to complete the LL.M. degree.
- 2013 2S students may take any ABA-accredited online course in IP law to satisfy the fourth and final course requirement for the Certificate.
- 2013 1S students will have additional IP course offerings from which to choose in 2014, and may not take online courses to complete the Certificate.
