Program session dates: May 29-June 7, 2013

This accelerated Law & Management 8-day training program will cover the essential topics that today's international corporate counsel need to engage effectively in the strategic planning, negotiation and deal structuring of international business transactions. It is especially suitable for executives or legal counsel of multi-national firms that are establishing an offshore branch, expanding into international markets, or engaged in cross-border transactions. CURRENT ISSUES IN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW & TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT

Program session dates: July 8-17, 2013

This accelerated Law & Technology 8-day training program will cover the most current issues related to the legal protection, licensing and enforcement of intellectual property rights, as well as current best practices in consumer privacy, digital rights management and technology commercialization. Case studies will address recent developments in software, biotech, cleantech and other emerging industries. This program is recommended for both legal practitioners and technology managers. CERTIFICATE IN AMERICAN LAW SUMMER LAW INSTITUTE 2013

Program session dates: August 5-16, 2013

This two-week intensive legal training program is designed for professional lawyers and advanced law students from overseas civil law jurisdictions who seek a comparative understanding of American common-law doctrines, case law interpretation and analytical methods. The course is ideal for law students and practitioners who aspire to a career in international transactional law. To encourage global diversity in the classroom, participants in the IELE 2013 Summer Law Certificate program will be selected from many regions of the world. All courses will be taught in English and an optional exam will be administered. Participants will earn a Certificate from Berkeley Law IELE. Note: enrollment is limited, and by application only.
